About the course
College Composition I is an introductory academic writing course designed to strengthen students’ written communication skills in a college-level environment. Throughout the course, students explore multiple forms of academic discourse, including exposition, description, narration, comparison, process analysis, cause and effect, and argumentation. The course emphasizes the writing process through planning, drafting, revising, editing, and peer review activities while also developing critical reading and research skills. Students learn how to evaluate sources, conduct library and online research, and apply APA documentation standards in academic writing. By the end of the course, learners will be able to produce organized, coherent, and persuasive essays that demonstrate clarity, critical thinking, and effective communication for academic and professional contexts
